Dear Amigos,
Yes it’s been a long time since my last post. I have been pretty busy with The Blood Rider. We had a great time at monster mania in June. Met some cool folks, many signed up for the mailing list, and I got to meet Bruce Campbell. I am a big fan of his work, so it was a good weekend indeed. I was weary at first our table, being shared with Free Lunch…was taken out of the room to the hall… so they would have more room for their set up. Nice huh? Anyway the guys in charge of the con were cool, and gave us an awesome spot with no other venders next to us, so we had…2 freakin tables. We went from chaos, to having a great display and plenty of leg room and walk room. Funny how life can be like that I think the man up stairs is still helping me even with such small things to help me with my writing goals.
I saw some old friends from other cons, and made some new ones too. Bruce Campbell came by the room and popped over to my table as I asked him a couple questions, he was cool. The day earlier I had waited in line like the geek I am and got his picture, and gave him the Blood Rider book, and comic, I know he likes westerns so why not. I have some pictures of the weekend on Face book.
Right now My Business partner Konstantine is plugging away with the Blood Rider and now that a rewrite is done on book 1 and the screen play is finished, we can hope someone takes an interest in our hero. Time will tell…Think True Blood meets Dead wood. Vampires are hot right now, so we have to pray and keep our fingers crossed we can do more with this work.
I finished the screen writing course over the early summer, and hope to have a couple more scripts finished this year. I learned a lot, and hope the things I learned will help my rewrites and show me where my other scripts have fallen short.
So to wrap it up, The Blood Rider has been tweaked, being shopped and growing in hopes of more opportunities. We are getting the word out and hoping we can get this Vampire gunslinger a permanent home to tell more tales and find redemption and justice on the bloody trail.
In more personal news, my daughter starts preschool next month, turns three an Friday, and I am still stunned at how fast the last 3 years went! My wife and I are excited. The summer is almost over and it went by fast, we have been busy and don’t know where the time went. I am still very busy with other projects, doing the score for a movie called Experiment 7 with pop gun pictures, and am lining up some things with them as well. Joe D is the man. I will keep you all posted on other films, scripts and opportunities that may come soon.
